Sound Playback (aka Protools Playback, Playback Mixing, Playback Operating) is the art of prepping, editing, routing and mixing live or prerecorded audio on set using specialized equipment and software. It’s not just for musicals. It could mean blasting heavy metal to 400 background over an array of 2,000 watt speakers for a concert scene, characters cleanly singing along to the radio in a moving car through the use of earwigs, feeding one side of a prerecorded phone call (or an actor’s own lines) into an actor’s ear, repeating a thump to the floor so actors and background can dance in rhythm during dialogue, and so much more. Sound Playback is one of those special elements that make certain scenes come to life.

Please inquire about equipment rental items and pricing. Earwigs and speakers come in several varieties and configurations.
